Here's a couple of custom fitting 'Urban legends'

• Less loft DOES NOT mean more distance. It's only when your swing speed has been determined that you can calculate the loft you'll need to maximise distance.
• It's not just for good golfers - proper fitment may soon reduce an 8 handicap to a 5 but it's capable of turning a 25 handicap into an 18 almost immediately.
• Hitting balls into a net under the supervision of an unqualified (commission-based) sales assistant IS NOT custom fitting.

How "custom" was your custom fitting?

• Were you interviewed to discuss past swing tendencies and desired improvements?
• Were you physically measured for your ideal shaft length and grip size?
• Did you have your swing speed tested?
• Was your launch angle measured?
